Following the sentencing of her father, Paulo Cupertino, to 98 years in prison for the 2019 murder of actor Rafael Miguel and his parents, isabela Tibcherani has expressed a sense of relief. In a video shared on social media, Tibcherani described the court’s decision as a meaningful step toward closing a painful chapter in her life.
“Today I can finally turn this page,” said Isabela, who was in a relationship with Rafael miguel at the time of his death. “Let’s go on with life, as I was already doing, but now with the certainty that the real culprit will pay for what he did.”
The trial concluded at the Barra Funda Criminal Forum in São Paulo. Cupertino was found guilty of triple homicide, aggravated by the victims’ inability to defend themselves. He had been incarcerated since 2022, following nearly three years as a fugitive. Tibcherani, who testified during the trial, stated that she had limited her social media presence in recent years to protect her mental well-being, which had been severely impacted by the crime.
“Today I can say that I built a life for myself, with people who love and protect me. I am very grateful, despite everything,” she said.

According to the prosecution,Cupertino murdered Rafael Miguel and his parents,João and Miriam Miguel,as he disapproved of his daughter’s relationship with the actor. The victims were fatally shot outside Tibcherani’s home in southern São Paulo. Rafael Miguel was 22 years old, and Isabela Tibcherani was 18. Rafael Miguel was known for his role as Paçoca in the SBT soap opera Chiquitites, as well as his appearances in commercials and other Brazilian television productions. During the trial, two co-defendants accused of assisting Cupertino in his escape were acquitted. Cupertino’s defense team retains the right to appeal the sentence,but he will remain in custody.
