[메디컬투데이=양정의 기자] Park Selbio, an anti-cancer immunotherapy developer, was selected as the CAR-T (Chemera Antigen T cell) clinical research task of the National Cancer Center. With this selection of 3 billion won, Park Selbio will be able to speed up the development of this medium CAR-T treatment.

The name of this study is a brokerage study for clinical entry into the medium-sized CAR-T cell therapy for solid cancer treatment.

The research goal is to enter the clinical research of this heavy CAR-T immuno-cancer drug for patients with solid cancer such as gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, and liver cancer. To this end, Baksel Bio plans to conduct the entire process such as ▲ PD-L1/EPHA2’s mid-capacity CAR-T candidate manufacturing ▲ preclinical efficacy and safety evaluation ▲ establishment of GMP level manufacturing process and quality management system

Existing CAR-T therapeutic agents showed excellent effects in blood cancer, but solid cancer did not have as much as expected effects due to the limitations of tumor micro-environment (TME). This medium-sized CAR-T, which is being developed by Park Selbio, aims to overcome these limitations by attacking two signs of solid cancer expressions, PD-L1 and EPHA2. Non-clinical tests showed that the medium-term CAR-T had excellent tumor micro-environment penetration and cancer cell killing compared to existing CAR-T.

Park Selbio, CEO of Park Selbio, said, “The selection of the national cancer center has been officially recognized for Park Selbio’s heavy CAR-T treatment technology.” “We will present a new paradigm of solid cancer treatment with innovation technology that targets PD-L1 and EPHA2 at the same time, and establish a leading status in the global immunar cancer market.” It was revealed.

Founded in 2010, Park Selbio has secured a number of domestic and foreign patents based on the core source technology in the field of CAR and NK cells and gene therapy, and is actively strengthening its global intellectual property portfolio.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Welfare is promoting the ‘immune cell genetic treatment technology development’ project that invests 48.8 billion won from 2025 to 2029 through the National Cancer Center to support the global new drug market and secure intellectual property rights in the domestic bio pharmaceutical industry.
