TOKYO – Official visits of the highest heads of state abroad are among the most watched live broadcasts. If it is also a globally known face, the viewership will increase even more. In the case of the American president, it is evident that he belongs to this category. That’s why the missteps he committed during his official visit to Japan literally went viral.
US President Donald Trump traveled to Tokyo on Tuesday, October 28, for an official three-day visit to Japan. Unfortunately, during his short stay abroad, he made himself known in a negative way. As reported by India Today, if his predecessor Joe Biden became the target of ridicule for his missteps in public, the same scenario befell Trump during this foreign trip.
Three mistakes and a change of countries
The head of the White House committed several faux pas during the official parade of the Japanese honor guard and in the presence of the country’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, which started a wave of ridicule on social networks.
The videos from the show literally went viral. As Donald Trump walks with Prime Minister Takaichi past members of the honor guard, at one point he raises his hand in the universal military salute. However, he suddenly lowers her to the body when he realizes that this is probably not part of the prescribed protocol.
After a while, the Japanese Prime Minister signals to Trump to stop, but he doesn’t notice and continues on. “It gave the impression that he was lost and lost in his own thoughts,” warns the website. It shocked the prime minister and for a moment the intern remained on the spot with her mouth literally open. Subsequently, she increased her pace and tried to quickly catch up with him.
In the third situation where Trump behaved strangely, a signal from one of the security guards followed for the President of the United States to move towards the podium. But he did not notice this gesture either.
FAUX PAS also in the White House
During an official press conference in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington DC, Trump declared to the media that “US tariffs have prevented a potential war between nuclear powers India and Pakistan”. But you confused India with Iran.
