Papszun’s Candidacy: contingent on PZPN leadership?

“Przegląd Sportowy Onet” reports that Marek Papszun’s agreement with Raków Częstochowa includes a clause allowing him to terminate his contract if he receives an offer to coach the Polish national team. According to marek Wawrzynowski, “Papszun does not have injuries to the PZPN board, which he focused on his rival, is ready to sit down to talk and has an idea how to raise the staff.”

however, Kamil Głębocki from Nawylot.TV suggests a caveat.”There is no such topic. Marek Papszun is happy in Częstochowa and gently saying ‘he is not on the way’ with Cezary Kulesza,why you can’t be surprised. Such a clause is indeed, but it truly seems not to apply, while the PZPN is managed by this person,” Głębocki stated. As of now, Papszun has not commented on the media speculation.

Papszun was a finalist for the Polish national team job in September 2023, ultimately losing out to Proster. Papszun reflected on the selection process, stating, “There is the president of the Union who had the right to choose a trainer, and then, perhaps, I approached it too emotionally. However, I understood what it looks like. The substance and achievements do not count to the end. Other elements are also at stake.”

kulesza commented on the decision-making process: “I met and from Marek and michał.I told them that one of them would be a selector.Which one? Give me four or five days to think. Currently,Papszun’s contract with Raków extends until june 2026. Kulesza has mentioned Adam Nawałka, Jacek Magiera, Jerzy Brzęczka, and Jan Urban as other potential candidates for the selector position.
