Latvian defender Uvja Balinska and striker Sanda Vilmanis, represented by the National Hockey League (NHL) championship team, Florida’s Panthers have extended his contract with guard Niko Mykol for eight years.
The 29 -year -old Finnish hockey player would have concluded the previous contract after the upcoming season, in which he earned 2.5 million a season. The new agreement, which will be twice as high or on average five million a year, will enter into force from 2026/2027. Seasons and will end in 2034.
Mycola Panthers joined as a free agent in the summer of 2023. In both seasons, in the ranks of Florida, Mykola has won the Stanley Cup, being one of the team’s leading defenders.
Last season, Mykola went to the field in 76 Main Event Games, which reached career records (6), scoring (16), points (22) and +12. The Finn also stood out with 137 power techniques, the highest score among the Panthers guards, but with 88 blocked shots he was the second -best in the team.
Meanwhile, in the play-offs, Michola scored six (3+3) points in 22 matches with an average of 20:13 minutes on the field. He scored a winning goal in the third game of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Previously, Mykola has also represented the St. Louis Blues and the New York Rangers teams. He has a total of 328 Main Event games in his career, scoring 62 (14+48) points, 649 power techniques and 438 blocked shots.
Mycola has become another player of the Panthers who has been in the long -term contract – at least 2030, the attackers such as Alexander Barkov, Matthew Tkachak, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Carter Verheigy, Brad Marshall and Anton Lundel, Ekblad and Gustav Forsling.
