Last January 29, the general director of Ircac Giacomo Terranova signed the definitive loan deed with which the last tranche of the subsidized loan of 139 thousand was granted to the Nico and Nica College cooperative of Palermo for the purchase and renovation of a property where the cooperative carries out nursery school activities, a private nursery school with an adjoining play area. The offer of services is carried out in agreement with the Municipality of Palermo.
Piera Maggio, President of the cooperative, opened the school together with her sister in July 1985 and commented as follows: “We are proud to say that we have been present in the area for around 40 years and we were the first school in Palermo with this typology, then in December 2007 we established the cooperative, with the aim, among other things, of supporting parents and families in carrying out their role from the very first years of the child’s life, to offer him a growth environment full of stimuli and favorable to the development of his cognitive skills. Our business project – continues President Piera Maggio – aims to expand the activity already carried out, through the offer of a new micro nursery service and the expansion of places as a play area. the recreational activity in the play area will be carried out in the afternoon. The school will therefore be able to accommodate around 20 children”.
The financing which today reaches its final phase is intended not only for the purchase of the property located via Tahaon de Revel but also for the construction of renovation and adaptation works, planned not only for this property, but also the adjacent one in which the cooperative already carries out its activity, to make them structurally connected to each other; furthermore, the investment project concerns the purchase of machinery, equipment and furnishings functional to the carrying out of the company’s activities.
