The Norwegian Crown in the face of the test

In addition to her health setbacks, the heiress princess must also face the media storm around her eldest son, Marius Borg. The latter is indeed at the center of a very sensitive trial scheduled for early 2026, with several serious accusations, including four for rapes. On the institutional level, the Norwegian royal family is going through a delicate period due to the aging health of King Harald V and Queen Sonja, both aged 88. Their official commitments are increasingly rare, the king having notably delegated most of his functions to the Crown Prince Haakon. The latter appears today as the pillar around which the official representations are articulated, but it also depends on the unwavering support of his wife Mette-Marit.
