This Saturday, January 10, it was reported in the municipality of Paipa, Romita sector, the crash of an aircraft in which he was traveling popular music singer Yeison Jiménez and five more people.
According to the first versions, the plane had taken off from the Juan José Rondón Airport in Paipa to travel to the department of Antioquia, but the plane would not have reached the necessary altitude and ended up crashing before taking flight.
To make a technical analysis of the accident, the director of the Boyacá Air Service (AeroBoyacá), Juan José Navia.
Initially ruled out the BAD PRB alert as a possible alarm signal, explaining that this appeared on the aircraft screen only because the engine was at minimum, “If the pilot puts a little power on it, that will disappear, it is definitely a rule out, because this is an indication when the engine is at minimum, it is not something relevant when it comes to investigation.”
However, accepted that it is an aircraft that requires protocols, in addition to the conditions that influence when leaving the Paipa Airport“it is a very delicate plane to operate, to this they add a component, Paipa is a very delicate airport, because the plane was almost simulating a height of 10,000 feet, a plane at that height is very restricted and on top of that, The seat was completely full, you can see the effort that the plane makes to begin its career and start moving. This was like a ‘broth’ of things.”
“When you have already passed the second third of the runway and have not reached speed, it is your turn to take the fault into the air and make the plane fly, stopping it is a mistake and obviously a tragedy. Decision making played an important role in stopping the takeoff and not taking off. The plane seems slow when taking off, I guess the colleague made the decision to roll it a little more and get it out with effort. Surely the pilot did everything possible to hold the plane,” he analyzed.
Did Paipa Airport omit controls that influenced the accident where Yeison Jiménez died?
Navia assured in La W that this accident “It was something that could have been prevented. Things are happening at the Paipa Airport that are generating this type of things. Yeison Jiménez’s plane did not have a pre-flight control, it did not have a documentary control. “No one checked the plane before taking off, which prompts us to investigate.”
Likewise, he highlighted that AeroBoyacá, company dedicated to carrying out these reviewshas had multiple limitations and impediments at the Paipa Airport.
“A Pandora’s Box is going to be uncovered here, precisely because this accident, in a certain way, we could have avoided.” (…) The Boyacá Air Service was not created on a whim, it was created because we know that Paipa is a delicate airport. To operate an aircraft it is necessary to go to an office, submit a weight balance, have your fuel checked, your things checked, check your weather and have prior preparation,” he denounced.
“I have been fighting with the airport administration, because they charge the rent but do not allow us to work, they demand a lot of things from us, I have had to speak with the outgoing directors and the new one, look, we already had the first risk, we wanted to be very cautious until the preliminary or investigation of the case comes out”he added.
