Many people in Switzerland care for their mother, father, partner or another close person at home – often in addition to their own job and without clear recognition. Caring relatives make an indispensable contribution to our healthcare system: They enable seniors to stay in familiar surroundings for longer instead of moving to a home early on.
This is exactly where our offer comes in: Through our recognized Spitex partners, caring relatives can be officially employed and paid for their care work – with a fair hourly wage of up to CHF 38, social insurance and clearly regulated employment conditions. The care services provided are billed to the health insurance company of the person in need of care.
What does that mean specifically for you?
• You continue to provide care at home – we take care of the legal and administrative framework.
• A qualified Spitex nursing specialist will clarify your care needs, create a care plan together with you and provide you with professional support.
• You will receive training, guidance and regular feedback to ensure care remains safe and high quality.
• We take care of wage administration, social insurance and billing with the health insurance company – you can concentrate on looking after your relative.
This is how you get started
1. Non-binding consultation: Together we will check whether family care is an option for your situation and what requirements must be met.
2. Clarification at home: A Spitex specialist visits you and your relatives,
determines the care needs and clarifies the services subject to compulsory health insurance.
3. Employment as a carer/caregiver: You will receive one
Employment contract with hourly wages, clearly defined rights and obligations.
4. Ongoing support: You will receive professional support and relief if necessary – for example through additional Spitex assignments or training.
Your advantage: You don’t have to choose between “helping” and “making ends meet financially”. You can combine both – and your relative stays in familiar surroundings, with people they trust.
If you already regularly help with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, mobility, eating, medication or doctor’s visits, it is worth checking whether a job as a carer for relatives or family carers is possible. Many families don’t even know that this option exists.
