Two months after the release of The Outer Worlds 2, player discussions began to stabilize around what works in the game – and what definitely needs improvement.
The latest hit from Obsidian was warmly received as a solid, old-school FPP RPG, but the community today has one major complaint: too low a level cap.
A thread summarizing impressions appeared on Reddit several dozen hours after the end of the campaign. There was no surprise – almost all complaints concern the same problem. The experience limit set at level 30 means that players can only unlock a small part of the extensive skill tree, which kills some of the motivation to explore further.
One user put it bluntly:
I lost most of my motivation to do side quests when I hit level 30. They handled it poorly.
This time, Obsidian clearly focused on CRPG roots – conscious character building, difficult choices, no possibility of being “do-it-all”. The problem is that many players expected a system closer to hybrids like Borderlands, where development is longer and progression is more spectacular.

Moreover, the complaints are rather cosmetic: some people notice that exploration loses momentum in later acts, and the world does not encourage exploration to the same extent as at the beginning.
