Shohei Ohtani, the Dodgers’ star designated hitter, ignited the crowd at Dodger Stadium with a massive home run in his very first at-bat against the Colorado Rockies. After a quiet performance the previous day, Ohtani wasted no time making his presence felt. Facing Rockies’ right-hander Hermann Marquez, Ohtani connected with an 85.1 mph knuckle curve, sending the ball soaring over the right-field fence. The impressive hit registered a 111 mph exit velocity and a 32-degree launch angle, traveling a distance of 427 feet (130.1 meters).

This solo shot marked Ohtani’s sixth home run of the season, with five of those being solo home runs. He also homered in the Colorado match on the 15th, marking a home run in two games.
