Sandra from the RTLZWEI social documentary “Hartz und Herzen” has debts and no income. Instead of saving, she treats herself to an ostrich egg – and explains why.
The new house is financed solely by Tino. In order to be able to pay the installments of the property, the protagonist wanted to sublet some rooms – including the children’s room.
Sandra currently has no income at all, she doesn’t even receive citizen’s benefit. She lives solely on her partner’s income. Sandra actually planned to look for a job in East Frisia – but she quickly threw the plans overboard, as can be seen in “Hartz and warmly”.
Sandra buys an ostrich egg for 50 euros
Since Sandra is short of money, she should actually save. But instead she invests in a luxury item: something unusual is served on the table in East Frisia – an ostrich egg. That costs them more than 50 euros.
The ostrich egg should find its way into the pan. Sandra and her family are amazed at the dimensions; Tino even has to be inventive to get to the inside. He proceeds particularly carefully so as not to damage the precious egg.
After all: Sandra wants to use the ostrich egg even after eating it
Normal chicken eggs would have been significantly cheaper, but Sandra wanted to treat herself. “To celebrate the fact that Svenja has almost completed her training,” says the former citizen’s benefit recipient in “Hartz und Cordial”.
The luxury egg is a sustainable investment for the family – after all, you can not only eat it, but also use the shell as decoration.
