The film won every Oscar it was nominated for — a rare feat — including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

TRAIN DREAMS (2025 Sundance Film Festival) — For his follow-up to 2021’s Jockeywriter-director Clint Bentley returned to the 2025 Sundance Film Festival with Train Dreams — a gorgeous and thoughtful adaptation of Denis Johnson’s 2011 novella of the same name. The life of Robert Grainier (Joel Edgerton) is one of beginnings and endings without much fanfare. The film is up for four Oscars this year: Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Song.
