A senior citizen from Pockau-lengefeld has become teh victim of an online fraud, losing a total of 26,000 euros.According to the Chemnitz Police Directorate, the incident unfolded after the woman filled out a contact form on a video platform in March, expressing interest in “asset structure.”

subsequently, a “consultant” contacted her, leading to the opening of an account in Great Britain under her name. The woman deposited 5,000 euros into this account and shared her access details with the consultant. Despite declining a loan, an 18,000-euro loan was taken out in her name, which she is now obligated to repay monthly. The police have launched an investigation into the fraud.
