STOCKHOLM – 2025/06/12 11:23:10 – The Musical quarter in central Stockholm is set to close its doors as the Royal Court chapel prepares to move into the Concert Hall at Nybroplan during the Royal Opera‘s five-year renovation. The Swedish National Property Agency, SFV, has terminated the Musical Quarter’s lease, citing incompatibility with the chapel’s rehearsal needs.

According to Andil Dahl, concert hall manager at the Musical Quarter, the closure will eliminate vital public scenes from the city. “Our public operations cannot be combined with the hoof chapel’s rehearsal need, so we have to go out. We think it is very sad that the City of Stockholm gets rid of public scenes. On the one hand, the opera closes, and on the other hand, our public well -functioning operations are closed. so the stockholmers get rid of two scenes,” says ANDIL DAHL to TT.
