Manhunt Underway for Tennessee Suspect

Deputies Greg McCowan and Shelby Eggers conducted a traffic stop on an SUV in Maryville just before 8:30 p.m. DeHart reportedly refused to cooperate and exit the vehicle, leading to a confrontation. Despite attempts to subdue him with a stun gun, DeHart resisted.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, DeHart then brandished a firearm and opened fire, injuring both deputies. Tragically, McCowan succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a nearby hospital, while Eggers sustained injuries but managed to return fire.
The TBI is actively investigating the incident to gather more information and bring the perpetrator to justice.
