Olympia Provisions Sausage Recall: Portland Metal Contamination

Officials say 1,930 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) holiday kielbasa sausages “may be contaminated with foreign material”

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —  Portland-based Olympia Provisions is recalling nearly 2,000 pounds of sausage which may be contaminated with metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Friday.

According to the FSIS, the recall of was prompted after they received a complaint that a person had found metal in a package of ready-to-eat (RTE) holiday kielbasa sausages produced on Oct. 14, 2025.

The recalled product comes in a 16 oz. bag, labeled as “OLYMPIA PROVISIONS UNCURED HOLIDAY KIELBASA” with a best by date of Feb. 19, 2026.

FSIS added there have been no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of the product.

Officials say the item was shipped to stores Oregon, Washington and California, and is available for shipment online. It is also has “EST. 39928″ printed inside the USDA inspection mark.

Customers who have purchased the sausage are encouraged to either throw it away or return it.
