Istanbul – January 8 (KUNA) – Turkish media reported on Thursday that the oil tanker (Elbus), flying the flag of Palau, was attacked by drones in the Black Sea and was towed to a berth off the coast of Turkey.
According to the Turkish Ikhlas Agency, the attack occurred when the ship was about 30 nautical miles from the coast of the Turkish state of Kastamona. It is likely that the attack was carried out by a drone, and the upper part of the ship’s hull was hit.
According to the agency, the ship’s captain sent a distress signal, prompting Turkish Coast Guard units to quickly arrive at the site, where the tanker was towed under their supervision to a marina in the Enibolu area in Kastamona Province.
No crew member was harmed as a result of the accident, and specialists will assess the extent of the damage.
In late November, the oil tanker (Kairos), flying the Gambian flag, was exposed to a fire as a result of an attack by naval boats 28 miles from the Turkish coast, and the oil tanker (Virat) was struck 35 miles from the coast. (The End) T A / M M C
