The evening of August 24 proved memorable as Oasis launched the North American segment of their reunion tour with the first of two sold-out performances at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium. The event featured a two-hour set of Brit-pop classics, mirroring the rainy weather of the U.K. adn incorporating the Poznań tradition of Manchester City, all under the gaze of a cardboard cutout of Man City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, sporting a blue-and-white scarf.

Notably absent from the Oasis Live ’25 global tour were the well-known feuds,insults,and onstage antics of brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. The bandmates had previously buried the hatchet after their 2009 split, delighting fans with the reunion declaration a year prior.

The U.K. leg of the tour commenced with two shows in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4-5, followed by five shows in Manchester and a total of seven in London (with two scheduled for September). All shows were sold-out stadium events, accommodating between 75,000 and 90,000 attendees.This tour is far from a nostalgic act; Oasis could easily hold a residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere. The demand is high, and the Gallagher brothers are meeting it. They are now performing in North American stadiums, a feat they never achieved in the ’90s or 2000s, despite being a prosperous arena act. The fervor has only intensified.

A night of Classics and Chaos

The brothers maintained a low profile onstage,delivering high-quality music. Noel played guitar and sang some vocals, while Liam stood coolly at the mic with his arms behind his back, performing “Fade Away,” “Supersonic,” and “Roll With It.” Noel took the lead on “Talk Tonight,” “Half the World Away,” and “Little By Little.”

Liam dedicated “D’You No What I Mean?” to the “warriors,” and his words proved prophetic as rain began to fall-lightly at first, around “Stand by Me,” “Cast No Shadow,” and “Slide Away,” before escalating into a windy, torrential downpour. Attendees improvised with boxes on their heads, while others sought plastic ponchos or used their new merchandise for cover. Even Liam donned the hood of his signature parka while the band waited for towels to avoid slipping on the wet stage.

As they continued with “Whatever” (incorporating a snippet of the beatles’ “Octopus’s Garden,” a nod to their ’90s performances), “Live Forever,” and “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star,” the crowd embraced the rain, dancing, pogoing, hugging, and singing, their spirits high despite the weather. The rain seemed like a cosmic joke, testing the audience’s dedication after a 16-year wait for the brothers’ reconciliation.

Encore and Beyond

The four-song encore featured Noel singing “The Masterplan” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” while Liam concluded the night with the highly anticipated “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova.” He expressed gratitude to the fans for their years of support. “It must be a fucking nightmare to support and followin’ that. Nice one for making this happen and allowing us to put the band back on the map again. Respect. We’ll see you in a bit.”

The tour continues with stops at Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 28, followed by two shows in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at MetLife Stadium, and two at Pasadena, California’s Rose Bowl. The band will then head to Mexico City, London, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, and Chile, concluding in Brazil in late November. By the tour’s end, the Poznań tradition will likely spread worldwide.
