09/04/2025, Xalapa, Ver.- The Veracruz University (UV), through the General Directorate of Linking (DGV) and the Faculty of Nutrition, in coordination with the City of Xalapa, taught the workshop “Nourishing lives, celebrating with wisdom and flavor”, addressed to older adults.

The event was held at the Community Center Fovissste y He was in charge of teachers and social service students of the academic entity.

Julio César Sánchez Hernández, from the Coordination of Transversal topics of the DGV, mentioned that the Social Development Directorate of the City of Xalapa asked UV to support various activities, with the aim of celebrating older adults.

In that context, the workshop occurred, where nutrition students and teachers shared their knowledge with about twenty people. “This event is of great importance, because the link with society is essential for the university,” he said.

Livia Natalia Zamora Contreras, professor at the Faculty of Nutrition, said that the workshop was oriented to the elderly and issues such as healthy diet and safety in food were addressed.

“It arose as part of the linking of the Observatory in Food and Nutrition Security with the community centers of the city,” he said.

Eliseo López Hernández, a professor of the same entity, explained that the training was taught the dish of good eating and the importance of ingesting healthy supplies.

“It is essential that students participate in activities of this type, because they show them what awaits them in the workplace,” he said.

For their part, the students thanked the opportunity to test the knowledge acquired in the classroom.
