King Harald says he himself has seen the Netflix documentary, but will not go into what he thinks about it.
– I’ve seen the movie, but others think I have to judge the content of it, says the king.
The king is aware that the princess couple has broken the agreement with the royal house.
– We have found that, he says.
– And then … We have to live on, so we will try to do something about through conversations. We continue the conversations with them. I think they are more in line with us than it looks like.
Three years ago, the couple entered into an agreement with the royal house that they should not use the princess title or connection to the royal house in commercial activities, including media productions.
Princess Märtha Louise and Durk Verett have been closely followed by Netlix for a long time, until their wedding last summer. This has resulted in the documentary “Rebel Royals”, which the royal house has concluded that a break with the agreement they have with the couple.

King Harald: – We must find a solution
When asked about conversations, the king says:
– Enough for what? We will live on together. We agree that there should be a distinction between their business and our business, and we will try to solve that with the help of conversations.
– What value does the conversations have when the agreement is broken?
– Jaaah, says the king first with a sigh.
– As I said: We will live together for the rest of our lives. The Crown Prince couple will live with it. We must Find a solution.
Several have, after the documentary, argued that Princess Märtha Louise should now lose the princess title to create a greater distance to the royal house. According to the king, it is not a theme yet.
– The title is not a topic for the time being, says King Harald.

Believe Princess documentary broke the deal with the royal house
When the documentary “Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story”, about and with Princess Märtha Louise and her husband Durk Værrett, became available to an international audience just over a week ago, it aroused reactions.
In the documentary, Værrett took a racism settlement with the king.
An ambush on the king, commentators believed.
The Netflix documentary has also been criticized because both Princess Märtha Louise herself and Durk Værrett mentions her princess title and royal connection a number of times.
A few hours after the documentary was released, the message from the royal house was clear:
“Princess Märtha Louise and Durk Verrett’s participation in production is a violation of the agreement with the royal house.”
Will have clearer distinction
When Crown Prince Haakon met the press earlier this week, he said he has seen the documentary.
Have emphasized that it did not distinguish well enough between the royal house and the princess couple’s activities.
– We want there to be a clearer distinction between the royal house’s activities and Princess Märtha Louise and Durk Verett’s project and commercial activities. And I hope we get a little better, says the Crown Prince to NRK.
The Crown Prince added that the royal house has already started new conversations with the Princess and Verett in the wake of the documentary.
