In the city of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, a gala ball was held in honor of the Novruz holiday, Day.Az reports. In Kazakhstan, this holiday is known as “Nauryz Meiramy” and has ancient roots. Nowruz celebrations in Central Asia have historical connections with Persia. Even with the spread of Islam, this tradition remained alive among the Persians and Turkic peoples, which emphasizes its high popularity and importance.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was attended by representatives of many diplomatic missions accredited in the country. The foyer of the Astana Opera, the largest theater in Central Asia, has been transformed into the atmosphere of a Kazakh village, with cozy yurts, richly decorated with national dishes, and traditional entertainment. The organizers were dressed in national costumes of batyrs, paluans and steppe beauties.

The Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida Balaeva, opened the event. In her speech, she emphasized that the traditions of celebrating Novruz are passed down from generation to generation by the peoples of the East. Over time, this holiday spread beyond its original geography and became important on a global level.

I loved being a bitch!

The first time we met her was in Cannes, two or three years ago. Ana Girardot began promoting the series Totemsand we felt that she had a little difficulty defending her role as “hero’s wife”, which she said would undoubtedly be the last. Seeing us again in this very lively café in the Marais, where she arranged to meet us, she immediately remembers the episode. Except that, since then, the thirty-year-old has come a long way. Marie Kinsky, “the reactive redhead who yells at everyone and smells a bit like ass”which she plays in the series Fevercurrently on Canal+, is no one’s wife. And we feel, throughout the conversation, that the time to wait for the roles that will take her out of the archetypes to which her fine features have long destined her is over.

In front of an espresso, the twig with the blond bob and easy familiarity confirms this. “Marie scared me at first, but my agent pointed out that she was what I had been asking for for years : a character who detaches me from the sweet and touching woman.

PRIO wins arbitration and increases 1P reserves by 8%

PRIO won an arbitration related to the Wahoo field, which will generate a relevant increase in its 1P reserves and daily production.

The arbitration had to do with a dispute between the oil company and the Indian company IBV, which is a partner of PRIO in Wahoo with 35.7% of the capital.

As IBV did not want to participate in the investments for the development of the deposit — which has reserves of 125 million barrels — PRIO activated a clause called ‘exclusive operation’.

This clause defines that, when one partner does not want to participate in the investments, the other can make the capex alone and keep 100% of the result.

IBV did not agree and filed the arbitration process, which was defined today with a favorable decision for PRIO.

In practice, this will allow PRIO to keep 100% of the reserves of this deposit, which should have an estimated daily production of 40 thousand barrels. Considering the price per barrel at US$75, this production should generate revenue for PRIO of US$1.1 billion per year, with around US$400 million of this coming from IBV’s portion.

A large part of this revenue should go directly to the company’s bottom line,

An international team of researchers, led by a scientist from the University of Vienna, has successfully identified stellar winds from three stars similar to the sun by capturing X-ray emissions from their astrospheres. This breakthrough has allowed them to determine the rate of mass loss from these stars through their stellar winds.

#Jente #Posthuma #International #Booker #Prize #nomination #Writing #crack

When Jente Posthuma (1974) was lying awake at night a few weeks ago – she often has trouble sleeping – a message from her Australian publisher suddenly entered her mailbox. Her book was selected for the longlist of the International Booker Prize, the equivalent of the major English-language novel prize, for literature translated into English. “That was before it became public, so it was not yet stated who else had been nominated. So I immediately started Googling: how long is that list? Maybe there were a hundred books on it? But there turned out to be only thirteen. Then I woke up my husband and didn’t sleep for the rest of the night.”

On Tuesday it was announced that Jente Posthuma’s second novel What I’d Rather Not Think Aboutpublished in the Netherlands four years ago as Which I’d rather not think aboutIt even made it to the shortlist, the final six. That happened to a Dutchman once before in the almost twenty years that the prize has existed, Lucas Rijneveld The Discomfort of Evening – that also won the prize in 2020.
