New Recycling and Waste Facility Planned for North Tyneside

Funding secured for feasibility study following resident feedback on access to recycling.

Following strong community support, North Tyneside Council has committed funding to explore the creation of a new recycling and waste facility.

According to North Tyneside’s elected Mayor, Karen Clark, “Residents in Seaton Burn, Dudley, Wideopen and other parts of the north-west have consistently told us they want better access to recycling and waste facilities.”

The project follows a feasibility study proposed in the council’s budget plans. “We proposed a feasibility study in our budget plans and, after strong support through consultation, we’ve now committed the funding to get things moving,” said Mayor Clark.

Projected Benefits of the New Facility

The new facility aims to improve recycling access for residents in Seaton Burn, dudley, Wideopen, and other north-western areas of North Tyneside.

“Residents… have consistently told us they want better access to recycling and waste facilities.”
