North Korea has more than halved the supply of artillery shells to Russia due to the depletion of its ammunition reserve, but Pyongyang is simultaneously actively involved in the production of Russian military drones, according to the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Intelligence representative Vadims Skibickis for the agency Reuters stated that in September there were no deliveries of ammunition from North Korea at all, but only small batches were registered in October. “About half of these rounds were so old that they had to be refurbished in Russian factories,” he said.
At the same time, North Korea has begun producing FPV and medium-range attack drones, learning from Russia’s war experience. “They are expanding production in their territory,” added Skibickis.
Cooperation between the two countries is also becoming closer in the field of labor – by the end of the year, Russia plans to attract about 12,000 North Koreans to work in Tatarstan’s special economic zone “Alabuga”, where Iranian-type attack drones are assembled Shahed.
As reported Interfax-UAKorean workers were promised pay of about $2.50 an hour for 12-hour shifts. The Ukrainian intelligence service describes this cooperation as “a strategic alliance between two dictatorships that helps to continue the war of aggression against Ukraine.”
