The images are striking.
On the night of Monday 6 to Tuesday 7 October 2025, in Vire Normandy, Jamotte Motoculture was the victim of a break-in. Everything was filmed by the video surveillance.
The alarm scares away intruders
It’s 4 o’clock. We see four individuals contact the portal of the company specializing in the sale of agricultural equipment. Two of them climb it. The four intruders are visibly masked.
A few seconds later, approaching the store, the alarm sounds and the light spots brightly illuminate the interior of the courtyard and beyond.
Surprised, the four individuals turn back. They get into two vehicles and flee. One of the cars is also on the verge of being hit by a truck.
Faced with theft at least once a year
Sébastien Morel is the director of Jamotte Motoculture: “They didn’t have time to break things and enter the store,” he says.
His company is fortunately well endowed with alarms and video protection.
We are well protected, yes. In our sector of activity, we are faced with theft. They are looking for small thermal equipment. For us, it happens at least once a year. That’s why we invest in cameras and videos.
Alert neighboring businesses
The company has also published the video surveillance on his social networks. First to find out if people saw anything. “Maybe the driver of the truck read the number plates.” The Vire gendarmerie is on the case.
Then, for alert neighboring businesses. “They tried to rob us, but maybe they’re still around.” Unfortunately, not all companies are equally secure than ours.” The message has gotten through.
