It was found that the Agricultural Cooperative Museum significantly increased education for agricultural and agricultural cooperative members this year, playing a significant role as a ‘base’ to present the public value of agriculture and the future of rural areas.

On the 23rd, the Agricultural Museum held a ceremony to commemorate the 200th training session for visiting union members at the museum in Jung-gu, Seoul, looked back on this year’s educational achievements, and pledged to further strengthen the quality of education next year.

The Agricultural Museum conducts training for visiting members to increase members’ sense of ownership and spread the cooperative ideology. At the ceremony, Lee Kwang-soo, executive director of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation’s Agricultural and Rural Support Headquarters, Kim Il-han, head of the National Agricultural Cooperatives Community Contribution Department, and Han Min-hee, director of the National Agricultural Cooperatives Community Contribution Department, attended and congratulated the successful operation of the museum. At the commemorative ceremony, rice cakes made from Korean rice were distributed to promote consumption of Korean rice to add meaning.

Specifically, the Agricultural Museum explained that this year, it conducted training for visiting union members a total of 205 times for 12,000 people. This is a 63% increase from last year (126 times). Regarding the background of the clear improvement in educational performance, the Agricultural Museum stated that this was the result of a focus on education for visiting members as part of the ‘Nongshim Cheonsim (農心天心) Movement’ promoted by the Agricultural Cooperative this year.

Hae-ik Ha, head of the Agricultural Museum, said, “We held this ceremony to celebrate the achievements of member education, promote the excellence of our agricultural products, and spread the Nongshim Cheonsim movement. We will do our best next year to become a Nonghyup Agricultural Museum that grows together with our members.”
