NEW ORLEANS – The aunt of Antoine Massey, one of the few inmates still at large after a recent escape from the Orleans Justice Center, has publicly appealed for him to turn himself in. Shequita Taylor expressed her desire for her nephew’s peaceful surrender during an interview.

Massey is among the remaining individuals sought by authorities after ten inmates escaped from the new Orleans jail on May 16. Law enforcement is actively pursuing all leads to ensure public safety and bring those responsible to justice.

A video surfaced on social media earlier this week featuring a man identifying himself as Massey,claiming he was wrongly accused and asserting his innocence.The individual displayed documents that he said supported his claims.

In the video, the man stated that he did not break out of jail but was released. These claims are under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the escape.

Taylor said she communicated with law enforcement officials after they likely saw her social media posts encouraging Massey to surrender.

“It is a lie, far as him raping her and beating her with a pot, pulling her hair out and stuff so she bleed. … All those things are false allegations.”

In the social media video, the person claiming to be Massey requested an investigation into his conviction and appealed to public figures, including former President Donald Trump and rapper Meek Mill, for assistance. He also presented what he described as a signed affidavit from the woman he is accused of assaulting, alleging the accusations are false.

Reports indicate that a woman accused of aiding Massey, described by police as his “paramour,” had previously suffered physical abuse at his hands, according to court documents. The woman, who had a protective order against Massey following a prior strangulation attempt, allegedly knew about his escape plans and subsequently misled investigators. Massey has a history involving domestic violence allegations and prior jail escapes.

Taylor acknowledged that Massey and the woman had a tumultuous relationship, characterizing them as “two toxic peopel.” However,she disputed the severity of the alleged abuse,calling some details “false allegations.”

As of Tuesday night, the search for Massey continues.
