Keep refreshing for the updated winners list.
The Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild are announcing the winners of their 63rd annual awards show on Friday during a luncheon gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Special honors are going to Noah Wyle as the Television Showperson of the Year, Kate Hudson as the Motion Picture Showperson of the Year, Jimmy Kimmel for the President’s Award, Cynthia Swartz for the Bob Yeager Award for Community Service, and Pamela Golum for the Henri Bollinger Award for Special Merit.
Kimmel skewered embattled actor Timothée Chalamet when he said: “Publicists have a very difficult job, especially when their clients have strong opinions about opera and ballet. I love them. Remember when they used to say there’s no such thing as bad publicity? That was a lot of Kanyes and Diddys ago!”
The talk show host also praised Matt Damon‘s publicist for being able to keep the actor’s “micro-penis” a secret all these years. Obviously, Kimmel and Damon have a long-heated rivalry, and Damon even appeared in a pre-taped segment saying “F-ck you” instead of “Congratulations” to Kimmel for his President’s Award prize.
Hudson earned warm applause when she said: “Receiving this award is so wonderful, and I’m incredibly honored. At the end of the day, it really does matter that what we create reaches people, that it connects, that it resonates — whether it’s making someone feel comforted, making them laugh, making them think, or making them uncomfortable.”
The yearly ICG Publicists Awards celebrates publicists, photographers, and entertainment journalists whose work shapes the way film and television reach audiences. Categories include the Maxwell Weinberg Awards for Motion Picture and Television Publicity Campaigns, the Les Mason Award for Career Achievement in Publicity, and the Publicist of the Year Award.
Wyle’s achievement comes at the tail-end of what has been a clean sweep of honors for the first season of The Pitt. And seeing as the HBO Max medical drama has kept the yearly schedule, he could very well be back up on the stage accepting more awards later this year.
