Shortly after the conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed in Utah, Seyfried (40) wrote a comment under an Instagram post with the text: “He was hateful.”

The comment quickly drew criticism, and the actor felt compelled to come up with an explanation:

– We forget the nuances of being human. I can get angry at misogyny and racist rhetoric, and at the same time completely agree that the murder of Charlie Kirk was horrific and incomprehensible. No one should experience this kind of violence. This country is mourning far too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we at least agree on that?, she wrote under the Instagram post.

In a recent interview with Who What Wear, Seyfried says she has no plans to apologize.

– I’m not going to regret it. Hell, I commented on one thing, she says.

– I said something that was based on actual reality, actual recordings and actual quotes. What I said was quite factual, and I am of course entitled to an opinion.

Charlie Kirk was a conservative activist who was a close ally of President Donald Trump.

He was known for his strong opinions and polarizing statements. He often criticized liberal ideas and addressed topics such as abortion, religion and family values.
