Nîmes Weather 2025: Heat & Rain Assessment

by Archynetys News Desk

The year was once again hot in Nîmes between June and September but less rainy than in 2024 according to data shared by the Info Climat site.

The last hours of 2025 were cool in Nîmes with a little more than a degree, under shelter, but felt temperatures of -6°C due to a freezing wind which blew on December 31 with gusts of 35 to 44 km/h. And this start of the year is obviously still marked by cold, which could last until next week. Are we heading towards a winter as harsh as 2018 in Gard? Maybe…

But make no mistake! According to the well-documented Info Climat website, the periods of frost were not that numerous last year with three days of frost in November, as many in December, two in January and that’s about it at the Nîmes Courbessac resort.

The latter especially recorded temperatures in 2025 that were still very high last summer. Thus, from June 1 to September 30, 74 days of extreme heat, that is to say with temperatures above 30°C, were recorded, including 34 well above 35°C. 38 tropical nights, with temperatures above 20 degrees, were recorded last year in Nîmes Courbessac.

A cumulative rainfall of nearly 700 mm

On the other hand, no heat record was broken even if 41.8°C on August 10 and 41.3°C on July 1 were reached. Quite far from the 44.4°C of June 28, 2019, a record!

A cumulative amount of almost 700 mm of precipitation was recorded in Nîmes Courbessac for the whole of 2025, which is almost the same as last year which showed 695.6 mm but with a very wet month of March (250.4 mm!). In 2025, the rainiest months in Courbessac were in winter with 86 mm in January, 95.8 mm in February and 150.4 mm in December. It should be noted that there was hardly a single drop of rain in June with barely 2.2 mm.

Finally, 2,627 hours of sunshine (2% deficit) and wind gusts of up to 118.8 km/h on January 28 were also noted by Info Climat.
