The next NFL Super Bowl will feature the duel between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. Both advanced to the big game after winning their respective conference championship games. Something that perhaps made them lucky was the support they received from the NHL teams in their regions.
Before their game against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday at TD Garden, the Boston Bruins wore T-shirts with the message “I love Drake Maye” in support of the Patriots quarterback heading into their matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman proudly displayed the black T-shirt — which went viral — under his jacket during the players’ arrival. Maye’s jerseys have become a common sight at sporting events in the New England region, as fans often stand and applaud when someone wearing them appears on the stadium’s giant screen.
