Great success for the Rome Parade 2026, an event sponsored by Roma Capitale and ENAC, which yesterday – on New Year’s Day – flooded the streets of the historic center with music, colors and enthusiasm thanks to marching bands from all over the world. The President of the Capitoline Assembly also took part in the event Svetlana Celliwho cut the inaugural ribbon and greeted the artists, families and tourists present.
The parade, now in its 19th edition, has confirmed itself as the largest show in Italy dedicated to American marching bands and cheerleading groups, supported for the occasion by Italian folk and traditional formations. An ideal embrace between Italy and the world which, again this year, has transformed the heart of the city into an open-air stage.
Starting at 3.30pm, the procession crossed Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso and Piazza di Spagna, giving Romans and visitors an afternoon of celebration, energy and sharing. A kaleidoscope of sounds and choreographies that celebrated the meeting between different cultures, inaugurating the new year in the name of joy and participation.

The traveling concert featured numerous US ensembles, including the Disco Amigos of New Orleans, the Key West High School Band from Florida, the Mission San Jose High School Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard, the Bloomington All Star Marching Band, the Esperanza Flores Ballet Folklorico, the Palm Springs High School Marching Band, the Spirit of America Productions from Dallas, the Waubonsie Valley High School and Lake Zurich High School Marching Band from Illinois, the Corning Painted Post High School Hawks Marching Band from New York and the Varsity Spirit All American, which brings together select cheerleaders and performers at Varsity Spirit summer camps. Alongside the American groups, numerous Italian groups also marched, including Bettolle’s Folkloristica Band, Giulianova’s Caferza, Faleria’s Frustica and other ensembles that enlivened the route with popular music and traditions.

The free entry encouraged great public participation, transforming New Year’s Day into a collective celebration among the wonders of Rome, in the name of culture, music and entertainment.
