the French government has launched its 2025-2030 national strategy dedicated to neurodegenerative diseases. The declaration was made by Minister Delegate responsible for autonomy and disability, Charlotte Parmentier-Lecocq, on thursday, September 4.The strategy includes six axes and 37 concrete measures, developed in collaboration with relevant associative actors.

The organization emphasizes the need to strengthen support for patients and their families,promote early diagnosis,raise awareness about prevention,challenge societal perceptions,improve recognition for caregivers,enhance training for healthcare professionals,and support research efforts.

The strategy addresses the increasing number of individuals affected by these diseases and the growing burden on caregivers, which is exacerbated by the aging population. According to Alzheimer Europe estimates, 1.4 million people in France are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related condition. Millions of family members provide daily support, frequently enough at the expense of their own well-being.
