Neumünster. The fireworks that go off for them in the theater in January: a string quartet, Siegfried Lenz, a raspberry, a dance ensemble and once Eternal Youth.
The Minguet Quartet has been one of the most renowned string quartets of our time since 1988. Guest appearances at the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Elbphilharmonie as well as over 30 CD releases demonstrate his international recognition. On 12 January play string quartets by Haydn, Ravel and Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
Am 15 January A tragedy about obedience and resistance, about prohibitions, friendship and destroyed lives unfolds in the vastness of Schleswig-Holstein. Siegfried Lenz’s global success “The German Lesson” was published in 1968, at a time when the younger generation was questioning their parents’ sense of duty. The Schleswig-Holstein State Theater brings this story to the stage, in which not only an issue but also an entire era is opened.
Two actors just want to make hot dogs in their kitchen, but then one thing leads to another. Between sausages and tubes of mustard they take the 16 January Shakespeare’s Hamlet in attack. “Himlet.” You’ve never seen the Danish king’s son so fresh and approachable! A small foretaste of the top-class cast: Claudius, King of Denmark – A melon / Gertrude, Queen of Denmark – A Bircher muesli / Hamlet – A raspberry… There is also live music with pop hits and a large portion of fun. Don’t you play with food? The three-person theater collective is in Neumünster for the first time with its object theater and is serving an evening that is guaranteed to be anything but heavy fare.
Their performance is a frenzy of light, sound and movement: futuristic suits, pulsating lasers, huge projections and driving beats that fuse hip-hop with electro. A show that pulls the audience right into the action. On their tours through Brazil, the USA, the Middle East, Honduras, Japan and China, the Brodas Bros. have absorbed new dance styles and developed their new program “Around the World”, which will be released on 20 January can be seen in Neumünster.
Mozart’s opera The Marriage of Figaro has lost none of its charm from 1789 to the present day. This is not only due to the situational comedy, but also to Mozart’s ability to bring characters to life through perfect music.
The Schleswig-Holstein State Theater invites you on 23 January with a large orchestra and ensemble for what is probably the most turbulent wedding in opera history.
There were once six actors who meant the world on the boards, but now they are housed in a care facility. But theater remains theater – and this troupe can’t help but reclaim its stage.
