The platform acquired Warner Bros and becomes more attractive for Paraguayans.

The consumption of video on demand (streaming) platforms in Paraguay continues to rise and 2025 showed signs of consolidation of this habit among users. According to a report on the local market, Netflix leads the preference with around 21% of the Paraguayan market share, followed by Amazon Prime Video with 18% and Disney+ with 17%.

The OTT Video market (streaming services) in Paraguay projects to close 2025 with revenues of US$ 78.8 million, with sustained growth that is expected to take the volume to more than US$ 108 million by 2030.

Among Paraguayans who use Netflix, audience data indicates that an important segment corresponds to the 18 to 24 year-old range, followed by young adults between 25 and 34 years old. This pattern suggests that streaming platforms are capturing an important part of the cultural consumption of younger generations, progressively displacing traditional television formats.

Furthermore, 2025 becomes a key year for the global streaming market. Recently, Netflix announced the acquisition of Warner Bros and Discovery, owner of studios such as HBO Max, a historic move that will radically transform its catalog, incorporating world-renowned sagas, iconic films and series.

This global context also impacts Paraguay, since the promise of additional and exclusive content could reinforce the preference for Netflix, consolidating its local leadership. According to recent reports, this platform continues to generate increasing income and expands its global subscriber base, a situation that encourages Latin American users to remain active on the platform.
