Netflix 2025: Top English Series & All-Time Rankings

by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

Netflix’s all-time ranking of English-language series has been dominated by the same titles for years, and it’s rare that a new premiere can climb to such a high position in such a short time.

Season 1 of Wednesday is currently leading the field in the TOP 5 list of the platform, but behind it is a series presented in 2025, which became the most watched English-language series of the year and still holds the 2nd place in Netflix’s all-time ranking.

Other places on the list include Stranger Things Season 4, Wednesday Season 2, and Jeffrey Dahmer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, meaning it had to sit among titles that were already global pop culture phenomena. It is noteworthy that only two series from the TOP 5 were produced in 2025: the 2nd season of Wednesday and Kamaszok, the latter of which surprised everyone and climbed to the top of the ranking list, to the 2nd place, and at the same time became the most watched English-language series of the year.

Kamaszok (originally titled Adolescence) debuted on Netflix on March 13, 2025 in both the United Kingdom and Hungary, and in a short period of time achieved a historic result not only on the streaming platform, but also in traditional television measurement systems. It became the first streaming series to top Britain’s Barb Audiences weekly television viewing charts, which in itself indicates that the series has gone far beyond the usual online audience.

It currently stands at 69 percent on Mafab’s platform, based on more than 450 votes, which is considered a stable audience reception for a particularly divisive crime drama dealing with difficult topics.

The British miniseries written and created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham centers on a tragedy in a town in northern England: the police arrest 13-year-old Jamie Miller, who is suspected of murdering one of his classmates. However, the story is not based on a classic investigation, but on how the humiliation on social media unfolds in the background, the isolation of the young boy and the impact of the incel phenomenon. Interrogations, school investigations and Jamie’s conversations with a forensic psychologist gradually reveal the mental and social milieu in which the tragedy was born, while Jamie’s family is also forced to face the community’s distaste.

The series’ critical response was reinforced by industry accolades: Teens received a total of 13 nominations at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards and won Best Miniseries and Best Direction. The acting performances were rewarded with special awards, and in April 2025, development of Season 2 officially began.
