Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed his warning against rebuilding the military capabilities of the Lebanese Hezbollah, vowing to remove any danger threatening the security of the occupation.
Netanyahu confirmed in press statements today, Sunday, that “Hezbollah is trying to rearm and recover,” stressing that he “will not allow Lebanon to turn into a new front against us, and we will act as needed.”
Netanyahu also explained that the occupation army forces in Gaza are “systematically eliminating some Hamas-affiliated enclaves in the territories they control, whether in Rafah or Khan Yunis.”
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said earlier today that “Hezbollah is playing with fire,” accusing the Lebanese authorities of procrastinating in disarming it.
It is noteworthy that the ceasefire agreement between the Israeli occupation and Hezbollah entered into force on November 27, 2024, after months of mutual military operations between the two parties due to Hezbollah’s support of the Gaza front after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
The agreement stipulated that the party would retreat south of the Litani River, dismantle its military structure there, and limit the carrying of weapons to the Lebanese official apparatus, in addition to the withdrawal of the occupation from areas it advanced to during the war.
