Actor Neil Patrick Harris is slated to lend his voice to the iconic Marvel Comics character Deadpool in the forthcoming virtual reality game, “Marvel’s Deadpool VR“.

The declaration was made during summer game Fest,revealing that the game is being specifically designed for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S VR headsets. Players will embark on an original adventure with the “Merc with a Mouth,” battling familiar mutant adversaries. According to the official synopsis:

“After being pulled thru a portal to Mojoworld, Deadpool sees a chance to get rich – like really rich. He signs a sketchy contract without reading any of the fine print and then it’s off to visit a bunch of locations from across the Marvel universe, battling against iconic (and not-so-iconic) villains.It’s real metaverse stuff – in the marvel Universe sense, not the VR one”

The game, a collaborative effort between Twisted Pixel, Oculus Studios, and Marvel Games, is expected to launch later this year. Developers have hinted at the virtually limitless possibilities for dispatching enemies within the game.

Players can expect to engage in combat scenarios ranging from “punching someone with a grenade” to “hitting people with a dismembered limb” or even “holding a face to a propeller.” The diverse array of enemies includes “soldiers, demonic dogs, weird humanoid lizards, and creepy worm-things.”
