Naughty Dog is currently working on its new project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a single-player sci-fi action/adventure game.
Along with this solo project, the studio appears to be working on a second project, a cross-platform release that includes a multiplayer experience, according to a new hiring announcement.
The studio is looking for an in-game sound effects specialist, and requirements for experience in multiplayer and cross-platform audio implementation indicate that the upcoming project will be cross-platform and multiplayer.
The point about “multi-platform” rules out that the announcement is related to Intergalactic, which will be exclusive to PlayStation, as Neil Druckman previously confirmed that the team is working on another project alongside Intergalactic, indicating that the announcement may be for this second project.
The studio had previously canceled a standalone multiplayer project for The Last of Us, and there may be a possibility of it being revived within the new project.
