A Nashville hot chicken sandwich chain is set to open its second location on the Central Coast in mid-March.Video above from Salinas grand opening. Angry Chickz announced it will open a location in Watsonville on March 20, 2025. The restaurant will be at 975 Main St., Suite 5.“Watsonville is an exciting market for us as we continue expanding across California,” said David Mkhitaryan, CEO and founder of Angry Chickz. “We’re excited to introduce the brand to a new community and create a place where guests can enjoy great food, choose their heat level, and have fun with the experience every time they visit.”The Watsonville restaurant will be the chain’s 32nd location in California, a spokesperson said.The menu includes chicken sliders, chicken tenders and bowls with mac and cheese and chicken.Spice levels range from Country (no heat) to Angry, which is so hot that customers must sign a waiver before eating it.“I acknowledge that there are certain risks associated with the activity of consuming the Angry heat level. The risks and dangers include, but are not limited to, increased use of profanity, a burning sensation of the mouth and lips, profuse sweating, bodily injury or even death,” the company’s website states.The chain’s Salinas location opened to much fanfare in late 2024. Eager customers camped out overnight to be among the first 100 patrons, who received prizes. A student band was hired to entertain guests, and five customers won a year’s worth of chicken.It is unclear whether the Watsonville grand opening will include similar prizes.
