Antonio Conte is starting to worry about Napoli‘s chances of winning after losing to Bologna. Conte questioned his team’s spirit.
Napoli lost during a visit to Bologna headquarters in the 11th week of Serie A. Competing at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, Sunday (9/11/2025) evening WIB, the defending Serie A champions lost 0-2.
This was Napoli’s third defeat in Serie A this season. Overall, the Partenopei have lost five times in all competitions.

When they won the Scudetto last season, Napoli only lost four times throughout the Serie A season. Conte also admitted that it was tough for Scott McTominay et al. to defend the championship title.
“I’m worried, I can’t deny it. If the team that is supposed to be the protagonist has lost five matches in all competitions so far, then something is wrong,” said Conte as reported by Football Italia.
“As I said, what we did last season was extraordinary. It’s a different year, we tried, but in my view we have to ask ourselves whether we worked with enthusiasm and passion like last season, when we wanted to prove ourselves, or whether we were carried away because people said we were favourites.”
Conte thinks there is something wrong with Napoli. He didn’t see the same enthusiasm as last season.
“The energy has definitely changed here, I don’t feel the positive energy we had last season,” he continued.
“The kids know exactly I’ve been saying this for a long time, it makes me sad because I can’t change this energy in the last four months. That means I’m not working well, or someone doesn’t want to listen to me,” he said.
As a result of the defeat from Bologna, Napoli dropped to the fourth level Italian League standings with 22 points. They are two points behind Inter Milan and AS Roma.
