NAPLES: CTO hospital Unveils New Departments After €12 Million Investment

NAPLES – A notable boost to healthcare in the Campania region was celebrated with the inauguration of new departments and services at the CTO (Centro Traumatologico ortopedico) of NAPLES. The upgrades, funded by an investment of approximately 12 million euros, mark a substantial renewal of the hospital, aimed at enhancing healthcare services and strengthening post-operative and rehabilitative care throughout the region.
Among the key improvements is the new emergency medicine department, lauded by the president of the campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, as a center of excellence. Spanning over a thousand square meters,the department features 18 beds-14 for standard hospitalization and 4 for sub-intensive care-along with isolation rooms,a dedicated family consultation room,and a space designed for end-of-life care.
Enhanced Facilities and Services
Alongside the emergency medicine department, the newly renovated cardiology department, equipped with 10 additional beds, was also unveiled. The resuscitation, anesthesia, and intensive care unit has been completely modernized with state-of-the-art technological equipment. Additionally, a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility and upgraded post-operative rehabilitation structures, including a revitalized rehabilitation swimming pool, were inaugurated.
The entire hospital complex has undergone energy efficiency upgrades, promising more lasting and cost-effective operations in the long term.

“Thanks to these interventions,” said De Luca, “the CTO is confirmed as a regional and national reference point for post-operative assistance and for post-traumatic rehabilitation. We are very satisfied: it is indeed a concrete result that will improve the quality of the treatments for Campania citizens.”
