Must-See Film: Action-Packed Battles

by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

One battle after another (One Battle After Another). Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Interpreters: Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, Alana Haim, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn. (Film, in the cinema).

If you are the ones who go to the cinema, maybe they choose only one movie per season, go and see this. The new PTA film is the most accurate description that you will find bad confusion (semi cit.), Indeed of the infernal confusion in which humanity is immersed in this historical moment. We are slaves of slogans, we crave memberships and sides, we are never free, even when we are convinced we are. The film is drawn not very faithfully by the novel Vineland by Thomas Pynchon, set in the last years of the presidency of Ronald Reagan and the saga of a group of Hippie Strafatti, old tools of the counterculture, who have lost the game. Here, however, we are without declaring it in our times (it is understood from prison for immigrants to the frontier of Mexico in the first scenes) but the starting and end dates of the story are deliberately left vague.

Ghetto Pete, or Dicaprio, is a bombarol part of an antagonistic group that uses the poetry of the seventies The Revolution Will Not Be televiseed as code words. He is in love with Perfidia Beverly Hills (the names are all fabulous), the most unleashed of the gang. Violent, aggressive, she is already a parody of fanatics and also of a certain way of painting Kickass females in cinema. Without spoiler, I just say that Perfidia leaves Ghetto Pete with their baby girl in her arms that we will review sixteen years old.

Dicaprio gives his best in this character who is the alternative version of the Jordan Belfort of The Wolf of Wall Street and his other neurotic portraits to the limit of madness. On stage even Sean Penn, in one of the most repugnant roles ever seen.

But if the characters risk being a portraits of surface, the ultimate sense of the film is never superficial. A great, ambitious, intelligent satirical fresco in which Pta has for everyone. Maga and not sorceress, antifa and fascists, feminists and fearful of God, women and men and all the pronouns that are in the middle.

They do, we do, all a little under penalty of or, at best, we are very confused. Better to rely on those few human beings resolved and still aware in circulation (such as the martial arts master played by Benicio del Toro) or to the very young. So PTA thinks that, after all it must be an optimist: we are seeing how it goes, hoping to be still alive after this life of neurosis, delusional as a chase on the streets of California, all sun and dust and bumps, roads that shine the guts.

Very precious cinephile quotations scattered here and there, on all DiCaprio who looks at the battle of Algiers of Gillo Pontecorvo on TV.
