According to the scriptures, Diwali is celebrated on Amavasya and this time Amavasya is starting from 20th October, hence Diwali will be celebrated on 20th October only. But stock markets will remain open on this day.

Whereas the stock market will celebrate Diwali on 21st October in the afternoon. Diwali On the occasion of 2025, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) have announced the schedule of market holidays and Muhurta trading. Muhurta trading is organized every year on Diwali for the stock market. This time the Muhurta trading time has been fixed not in the evening like usual, but from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm.

According to the information given by BSE, the stock market will remain closed on the occasion of Balipratipada on Wednesday, 22nd October. Normal trading in the market will take place on October 23. Before this, there will be trading throughout the day on 20th October, while on this day there will be celebration of Diwali in the entire country.

Muhurta trading this time in the afternoon

According to the notification released on the stock market website, the market will remain closed on 21 October 2025 (Tuesday) on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja (Diwali). Muhurta trading will be organized on this day only in the afternoon from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm. Next day, on 22nd October (Wednesday), there will be no trading on the occasion of Balipratipada. like this, investmentWho will get market leave for two consecutive days.

Muhurta trading marks the beginning of the new financial year (Samvat 2082) according to Indian tradition. During this time, investors start their new investments and this is seen as an auspicious sign.
