MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Behind the viral Instagram social media account of SD Muhammadiyah Parakan (@sdmuhammadiyahparakan) there is the hand of a teacher who is not only good at imparting knowledge to his students, but also skilled at holding a camera.
He is Muhammad Arfian Hariz, a teacher who successfully changed the face of SD Muhammadiyah Parakan, known to many people through his photographs. To this day, the barrage of positive comments continues to come.
In front of 100 participants in the Creative Photography Workshop held by the Media Section of the PP Muhammadiyah Office on Wednesday (12/11), Arfian explained the interesting stories and tips behind his authentic photos.
“I teach how to carry a camera. There are activities to carry a camera. The camera and I are like a promise to friends,” said the Islamic Religious Education Teacher.
According to Arfian, creative photography is not mainstream or ordinary photography.
“Creative photography is the art of taking photos that go beyond ordinary documentation. To express the photographer’s vision, ideas and emotions uniquely,” he added.
After the photos uploaded to SDM Parakan’s official Instagram account became busy, said Arfian, there were also lots of messages coming in. All responses were positive.
The recipe, said Arfian, is that there are 4 main concepts in the photo. Arfian explained, firstly, photos must be able to express a vision.
“Creative photography is a way to realize the ideas in the photographer’s head and convey them to the audience,” he explained.
Second, it’s more than just recording. The goal of a photo is not just to capture an object, but to create an image that triggers a thought, emotion or story.
“Third, photographers can experiment with various photographic elements such as shape, color, light, shadow and texture to create something new and impressive,” he added.
Lastly, continued Arfian, you must have a unique point of view. “The ability to see the aesthetic potential in everyday situations and turn them into interesting senl works is his main characteristic.”
According to him, this concept can be applied, especially for schools that are developing social media. Evidently, many people know SD Muhammadiyah Parakan from social media, not only because of its achievements.
“This has huge benefits for schools. Especially to encourage an increase in the number of student registrants,” stressed Arfian. (janu)
