MTV Westerhof is champion of the South Lower Saxony-West district class! The team was able to secure the title before the last two games of the season. With a six point lead over second-placed TSV Brunsen, the top of the table is no longer in danger.
The Westerhöfer record speaks for itself: 32:0 points with a game ratio of 139:21 – a flawless performance this season. The players’ individual records also reflect their success: Oliver Sengstack has remained undefeated in singles since mid-November and increased his TTR value by 29 points. In the upper pair cross, Götz Lohrberg (26:6 wins, +15 TTR) and Lutz Peinemann (26:6 wins, +4 TTR) shone. Yoshi Huwe achieved impressive 28:2 victories and made a decisive contribution to the success.
The crowning moment of the season came in the district cup: in a convincing performance, Westerhof defeated Bovender SV from the district league, who were playing two classes higher, 4-0 in their own hall. This means that MTV will move into the cup finals in Hemeln at the end of May and have secured a brilliant highlight of the season.
