The decision was announced by the President of Parliament, Fernando Rospigliosiwho reported on the admission of the agenda motion (21430), which requests the presence of the head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) to respond to the investment project for the new Central Highway.

According to the provisions of the presidency of Parliament, the minister must go to the plenary session on Thursday March 19 at 3:00 p.m. to answer the questions posed by the legislators.

The head of Transport must explain why on February 3, 2026 it was decided to terminate the technical assistance contract with the French company EGIS, which was part of the Government to Government (G2G) agreement with France.

The decision to separate EGIS was based on reports from the Ombudsman’s Office that indicate that companies linked to this economic group are disqualified by the World Bank and the IDB due to fraudulent or corrupt practices in other countries.

However, Congress criticized that the MTC has not informed the regional governments in time about this contractual crisis, which generates mistrust and possible international lawsuits against the State.
