Building a Foundation for Emergency Response

In a proactive move to enhance community preparedness,volunteer students from Maykop State Technological University (MSTU) recently conducted an intensive “First Aid” master class. The training targeted cadet classes from OC No. 10 and students from secondary school No. 8 V. Soldatenko, equipping them with essential life-saving skills.

Hands-On Training: Mastering Essential Techniques

The master class, a component of the “Learning” educational initiative, was led by MSTU students specializing in “Fire Safety” and “Technosphere Safety.” The curriculum focused on providing a comprehensive understanding of when and how to administer first aid. Participants were introduced to a structured algorithm for emergency response, covering the necessary steps and techniques for effective intervention.

Comprehensive Curriculum: Addressing a Range of Emergency Scenarios

The training program covered a wide spectrum of critical scenarios, enabling students to confidently respond to various emergencies. Participants learned the global first aid algorithm, focusing on actions to take when someone stops breathing or experiences cardiac arrest. According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest. The curriculum also included techniques for managing loss of consciousness, conducting primary and secondary victim assessments, and providing assistance for abdominal and pelvic injuries. Furthermore, students were trained on how to handle situations involving foreign objects lodged in the respiratory tract and other urgent medical conditions.

Celebrating a Legacy: The Fire Department’s 376th Anniversary

Adding another layer of significance to the event, Dara Iranik, an MSTU student, delivered an engaging open lesson commemorating the 376th anniversary of the fire department in Russia. This historical perspective highlighted the importance of emergency services and the ongoing need for skilled responders.
