MSI announces an MPOWER based on the AMD chipset B850! – overclocking.com

For those who would not remember, in the past, MSI offered special motherboards overclocking With a dedicated series: Mpower and Xpower. Last year, the brand tried to resuscitate the series with a Z790 version, a model that we also tested here. This time, we learn that the brand may well attack AMD not offering an MPOWER B850M, it remains to be seen what it will offer.

B850M MPOWER: A new card OC For MSI!

MSI B850M MPower

If formerly buying an MPOWER card meant to acquire a high -end motherboard, today, this is no longer quite the case. From what we were able to judge with the Z790 version, the series designates entry -level cards with features linked to theOC… More particularly the memory part of the way.

In short, with this B850 model, MSI would offer something equivalent to its Z790 model. From what we can see of the first photos, the card is equipped with two memory slots in Dr5 while adopting a format micro-ATX. As a reminder, this configuration in two DIMM offers a better frequency climb of the RAM.

Otherwise, what can be seen, the card will benefit from at least one PCIe 5.0 x16 and at least two M.2, one of which is positioned on the side of the RAM. Finally, at least two SATA seem to be present.

For the rest, it is the unknown, we do not know how many power stages will be mounted on this reference, ditto for the connection I/O of the motherboard. Furthermore, on the design side, MSI seems to return to sources with a look Based on shades of black and yellow. Of course, Mpower markings are present here and there on the various dissipators.

It remains to be seen how this this card will be available: overall or just for the Asian market.
