Unveiling the MSC World America: A Ship designed for Global Appeal

Leonardo Massa, Vice President of MSC Cruises, emphasized the ship’s unique appeal to both US and European travelers. The MSC World America will embark on seven-night cruises from Miami, offering a diverse range of itineraries. This strategic move is designed to cater to the increasing demand for cruise vacations, which has seen a steady rise in recent years. According to Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), cruise passenger volume is expected to reach 39.5 million in 2027, demonstrating the industry’s robust growth.

With MSC World America, we inaugurate a new standard for Caribbean cruises… designed not onyl for the US market, but also for the European public.

MSC Cruises now boasts six ships dedicated to Caribbean voyages, ensuring year-round availability and a wide array of itineraries to suit every traveler’s preference. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to providing unparalleled entertainment and destination experiences.

Star-Studded Christening ceremony

The christening ceremony was a glamorous affair,with Drew Barrymore serving as the ship’s godmother. In keeping with maritime tradition, Barrymore officially named the ship, cutting the ribbon and smashing a bottle against the bow. Orlando Bloom co-starred in the event, alongside Italian commander Dino Sagani, adding to the spectacle.

Key figures from the MSC Group, including President Diego Aponte, Executive President of MSC Cruises Pierfrancesco vago, and CEO of MSC Cruises Gianni Onorato, were also present. A captivating drone show illuminated the miami skyline, marking the momentous occasion.

A Fusion of European Elegance and North American Comfort

The MSC World America represents the second iteration of the MSC Cruises World class prototype. It introduces a novel approach to cruising, seamlessly blending the sophisticated European design synonymous with MSC Cruises with the comfort and amenities favored by North American travelers. This fusion aims to attract a broad spectrum of adventurers seeking unique and memorable experiences.

Inaugural Voyage and Caribbean Itineraries

The MSC World America is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage on April 12, 2025, commencing its inaugural season from PortMiami. The ship will offer alternating seven-night itineraries, exploring both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. ports of call include:

• Puerto Plata, Dominican republic
• san Juan, Puerto Rico
• Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico
• Isla de Roatan, Honduras

Notably, all voyages will feature a visit to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC’s private island destination, further enhancing the cruise experience.
